Get Out The Noise Makers!  Happy Anniversary IBA!!

On December 4th the International Backgammon Alliance (IBA) will be two years old!!  Where has the time gone?  Some of you have been with us since Day 1!  How blessed IBA has been meeting, growing and interacting with you all.

I remember those first tournaments.  Just me, Eggy_IBA and a dream … sitting there praying we could find eight players to fill a bracket.  Last month IBA hosted to 3258 players!  What an amazing time it has been for us all!

It brings the IBA Team such pleasure to take the month of December to honor those of our most loyal and most successful players throughout the year.  Our hats are off to you and all that you have accomplished so far.  And now the time has arrived to see who find themselves standing on top of the pack for the entire year!  For those of you new to IBA, you will be able to watch some of the finest game play in town!

Friday, November 30th, 5PM PT:  The celebration kicks off with the wild and wacky Great GammonVillage Energizer Bunny Search Marathon!  Yes!  50 hours of continuous play in search of that elusive Energizer Bunny!  You’ll recognize the bunny easily… they just keep playing and playing and coming back for more.  Bring your own batteries and join the fun!  This is a GammonVillage Members only event, so come wearing your GammonVillage member name and have your membership number please.

Saturday, December 8th, 12PM PT:  To complete our year’s totals, the November Top Dog Invitational will be held.  IBA awards Winner Points to every match winner through out each month.  The Top 64 players in winner points compete monthly in IBA’s Top Dog Invitational.  Format:  Five point matches, seven point Finals Match, single elimination with a fifty minute match time limit (no time limit on the Final Match).  Substitute Players Rule will apply.

Sunday, December 9th, 9AM PT:  This year’s anniversary has been expanded to include IBA’s Annual League Playoffs.  The Top 3 players in each division of each IBA League period (changed mid-year to bi-monthly) will be invited to compete.  Format:  Nine point matches, eleven point Finals Match, single elimination with a seventy-five minute match time limit (no time limit on the Final Match).

Sunday, December 9th, 12PM PT:  Our last loose end in completing the year end is our November Tournament of Champions (TOC)!  Every event winner for the entire month is invited to compete against each other monthly Tournament of Champions.  Format:  Seven point matches, nine point Finals Match, single elimination with a sixty minute match time limit (no time limit on the Final Match).

Saturday, December 15th, 9AM PT:  The Annual IBA Winner Points Showdown Invitational will consist of the Top 64 in Winner Points for the entire year.  Substitute Players Rule will apply.  Format:  Seven point matches, nine point Finals Match, single elimination with a sixty minute match time limit (no time limit on the Final Match).

Saturday, December 15th, 12PM PT:  The Medal of Valor Invitational applauds all those that have come in second place during the year (formerly known as the Bridesmaid Invitational).  Included are all second place finishers of each monthly Tournament of Champions and Top Dog Invitationals.  Format:  Seven point matches, nine point Finals Match, single elimination with a sixty minute match time limit (no time limit on the Final Match).

Sunday, December 16th, 12PM PT:  The Annual Top Dog’s Leader of the Pack Invitational will find all first place winners of IBA’s monthly Top Dog events going head-to-head.  Format:  Nine point matches, eleven point Finals Match, single elimination with a seventy-five minute match time limit (no time limit on the Final Match).

Saturday, December 22nd, 12PM PT:  Annual Tournament of Champion’s Medal of Honor Invitational will highlight all of the first place winners of IBA’s monthly Tournament of Champions.  They will be battling it out for the Medal of Honor.  Format:  Nine point matches, eleven point Finals Match, single elimination with a seventy-five minute match time limit (no time limit on the Final Match). 

Sunday, December 23rd, 12PM PT:  The grand finale event of a wonderful month of celebration!  All of IBA will discover who is the Player of the Year!!  Format:  Eleven point matches, fifteen point Finals Match, single elimination with a ninety minute match time limit (no time limit on the Final Match).

Saturday, December 24th through January 1st:  Your IBA Team will be taking a Host holiday with our friends and family.  All of our regularly scheduled events will not be held.  We will be returning to our regular hosting schedule on January 2, 2002!
